Urgent Care Clinic

Previously known as the Medical Walk-in clinic, the Urgent Care Clinic serves patients with acute, non-life threatening complaints without appointments.  Housestaff have a 2-4 weeks yearly in Urgent Care. There are three shifts, and housestaff will rotate during the morning and afternoon:

  • Morning: 8am – 12pm
  • Afternoon: 1pm – 4:30pm
  • Evening: 4:30pm – 8:00pm

Housestaff expectations per shift are the following (depending on level of acuity):

  • R1: 4 patients
  • R2: 6 patients
  • R3: 7 patients

Attending physicians supervise the housestaff.

Goals & Objectives

Before You Start

  • Review the Urgent Care Orientation Packet.
  • Complete training in ORCHID FirstNet if this is your first time in the Urgent Care Clinic or Emergency Department.

When You Start

  • Show up on time to your shift in the Physician Workroom in the Urgent Care.
  • If this is your first Urgent Care rotation, notify the Attending to get oriented and focused tips & tricks for FirstNet
